The Long Weekend Plan
Terms of service
In shortThe Long Weekend Plan is a set of calculators that give general information, not personal financial advice. Free stays free. Plus is a personal licence for the period shown when you buy it, which renews automatically if it is a subscription (cancel anytime), with a 14-day change-of-mind refund. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply.
1. These terms
These terms apply when you use The Long Weekend Plan (the app, its calculators and this website). By using it, signing in or buying Plus you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. Who we are
The Long Weekend Plan is provided by Mark Murphy, a sole trader, under the registered business name The Long Weekend Plan (“we”, “us”). Contact us at australiansuperguidebook@gmail.com or through the support page.
3. General information, not financial advice
- The calculators are not intended to be relied on for the purpose of making a decision in relation to a financial product. You should consider obtaining advice from a financial services licensee before making any financial decisions.
- Results are estimates based on the information you enter and the assumptions shown. They are not predictions, recommendations or personal advice, and they do not take account of your full objectives, financial situation or needs.
- Tax, superannuation and Centrelink rules are simplified and use the rates current when each version was released. Rules change, and the results may contain errors. See About this calculator for the purpose, limits and assumptions.
- Results are only as accurate as the figures you enter, so please check them.
- The app is designed for people living in Australia. It uses Australian tax, superannuation and Centrelink rules, so it may not suit you if you live overseas or are not an Australian resident for tax purposes.
4. Free and Plus
- Free is available at no cost. What it includes may change over time.
- Plus is a licence to use the Plus features for the period, and at the price in Australian dollars, shown when you buy. It is for use by you and your household, and is linked to the email address you buy with. It may not be shared with, or resold to, other people.
- Automatic renewal. If Plus is sold as a subscription (for example, per year), it renews automatically at the end of each period and the price is charged to your payment method, until you cancel. Stripe emails you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from Manage subscription or by emailing us; you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. If we change the price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.
- You must be 18 or over to buy Plus.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. Your licence is set up automatically when payment succeeds.
- Refunds and cancelling are covered by our refund and cancellation policy, including a 14-day change-of-mind refund.
- When a Plus licence ends, Plus features stop. Your plan is not deleted, and you can keep using Free.
5. Signing in
We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email account secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
6. Your plan and your information
- Your plan and the statements you load stay on your device. You own your plan and what you enter.
- Because your plan is stored in your browser, clearing your browser data or changing devices can remove it. Save a plan file as a backup. We cannot recover a plan we never received.
- How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
7. Fair use
Please do not:
- share, sell or rent access to Plus, or let others use your licence;
- copy, resell or republish the app, its calculators or its content, or build a competing product from them;
- reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the app or its content;
- try to get around sign-in or licence checks, or interfere with the service or other users;
- use automated tools to access the service or its price and AI features in bulk, or use it for anything unlawful.
If you do, we may suspend or end your access. If we end a paid licence for this reason, we will tell you why.
8. Ownership
The app, its calculators, design, text and graphics belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you permission to use them, not ownership of them. Your plan and what you enter remain yours.
9. Changes and availability
- We update the app, including rates and rules each year, and may add, change or remove features. We will not remove the main Plus features during a period you have paid for without offering a refund for the unused part.
- We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Some features rely on other services (such as Categorise with our AI) that may be unavailable at times.
10. Australian Consumer Law and our responsibility
- Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees or any other right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Subject to that, we are not responsible for financial decisions you make, or losses that result from them, because the calculators are general tools and are not intended to be relied on for those decisions (section 3).
- To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Plus in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Other services and links
The app uses other providers, such as Stripe for payments. Their own terms apply to what you do with them. Links to other websites are for information; we are not responsible for their content.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change Plus or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects a Plus licence you have already paid for, we will tell you by email first, and if you do not accept it you can ask for a refund of the unused part.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. Nothing here stops you contacting a consumer protection agency.
14. General
- If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms, our privacy policy and our refund and cancellation policy are the whole agreement between you and us about The Long Weekend Plan.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
